The song of the Oak Tree

Oak leaves shiver and flicker before its time to fall,
Standing in solemn prayer to the sun and heaven.
Lonely swirls of clouds melt before my eyes,
Silently petitioning god for a gentle succession.

Let us get together,
Sing, laugh and dance for a reason.
"Death spared us for today",
"Tomorrow he could charge us with treason".

Why get cute and say
"Death I've felt your soft kiss"
Within every dew drop, a small life we pay,
"Whatever life I've spent won't be missed".
